We roast. We grind. We blend.
From spice seeds to a fine powder.
The old fashion way: mortar and pestle.
Because it tastes better. And because it gives you more in return. Learn how to use the spices and take home your seasonal supply.
Explore the healing properties of a variety of spices and how to use them in your everyday dishes, as well as simple home remedies.
You will roast and grind your own seasonal spice blend (masala) to balance seasnal influences of the the late winter season. That's what we call a smart kitchen. We're bringing it back to basics.
If you have a mortar and pestle, please bring it to class. There will be a variety of sizes available to try in class.
Cost: $32, includes tea and cookies, and your own jar of spices.
